I am an Issaquah native and proud graduate of Issaquah High School. I received my B.A. in English Literature from Western Washington University, then continued my education for another year to receive my teaching certificate in English Language Arts. The Woodring College of Education teaching program was rigorous and diverse, which led me to seek a unique experience for my student teaching internship. I decided to take an educational adventure to Costa Rica, where I taught in a public school to 10th grade English Literature students.
I now find myself back in beautiful Issaquah, learning and growing as an educator at Skyline High School. This is my fifth year teaching at Skyline.
While my main passion in life is education, I do have a few hobbies on the side. I am an avid reader (or book-junkie as some would call it), dancer, writer, gardener, and pumpkin lover (pumpkin pie is my favorite!). I studied with the Seattle Shakespeare Company for 6 years and hold a minor in Theatre Arts.
I look forward to working with my students this year as we develop our critical thinking, analysis, evaluation, and writing skills. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
