Hello 10th graders!
It’s our final two days of school – woo hoo! You made it to the end of your 10th grade year and I am SO PROUD of you. The work you submitted was excellent – even under typical circumstances. Your essays were the best I’ve seen in my time at Skyline. But most importantly, you stuck with it and trusted us as your teachers through to the end. These experiences are going to make you so ready for whatever challenge comes your way! Here is your final Week at a Glance: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QR8kWGpy7r0ioLDeix02iqqc1wITZid3c855Kvkbpr8/edit?usp=sharing Please note, due to some emergency meetings today, we have moved our final farewell meetings to tomorrow! It was a pleasure teaching you this year – please DO NOT be a stranger next year. Say hello any time :) Feel free to send me notes about your summer and cute animal pictures! Ms. Havlin It’s our last full week and your last assignments – woo hoo!
Essays: I am SO PROUD of your essays. Wow! I really think they are collectively the best 2nd semester essays I’ve seen in my entire time at Skyline. Your language analysis was so consistent and I could tell you were all incredibly invested in your topics. Great job! A Small Place: I also can’t wait to read your reflections on A Small Place and privilege (Due Sunday, 11:59pm, MS Teams). Thank you to the students who have reached out to let me know about their thoughts/appreciation for the text – yes, it’s thought provoking! Yes, it can feel uncomfortable. Great job leaning into that discomfort and processing! Grades: Please double check your grade book to make sure all missing assignments have been updated. If there is something needing an update – please email BOTH block teachers. Final ENLS: Week at a Glance Link This week you have two assignments to submit to MS Teams. The last. two. assignments. You can do it! As always – please let us know if you have any questions, we’re here for you! Week 8! We're so close to being done with school - two more full weeks. You've got this!
I am so proud of you for finishing your essays (Monday, 8am, MS Teams)! I look forward to reading them, especially your language analysis :) Please take a look at the Week at a Glance Document. We are continuing to integrate calendars for LA and SS to simplify your week. Also note the flexible schedule to accommodate a mindfulness activity and break, if you need one. Or you can jump right into the new content end your week early for our class. Whatever works best for your schedule and mental health - we know you'll make the best choice for you. We will update office hours later this week - in the meantime, please email (both teachers) if you have any questions or need any support! As always - you're not alone, we're here for you.
